Breakin the Law

I am a Democrat at heart, and I hate the idea that I may become like my dad (who is a diehard Republican). It seems as I grow older I grow to be more and more like him.

My guy Barack came out with an amazing speech this week.  If you haven’t seen it yet, you have to watch it. His oratory skills are like no other, and if you don’t give him some credit for the speech - then you just aren’t truly listening.

Some people don’t listen.  Some just can’t play by the rules.

I just can’t understand how some people don’t think the rules apply to them.  Just like single drivers driving in the carpool lane.  What makes you so fuckin’ special?!?!

So I have to ask, “what makes Florida and Michigan so freakin’ special that they don’t have to play by the rules?”  They broke the Democratic primary rules, and now they want their delegates seated?  FUCK NO!  They think they can move their primaries up to be more special than others?  Well, they get what they deserve!

Offering re-elections is preposterous.  It just gives them what they wanted in the first place… the spotlight, the added importance.  If they should get their delegates seated, then split it 50-50.  Their delegates will be in Denver, but their addition is without determining consequence.

The Democratic party is partially to blame in the fact that they should have clearly stated from the get go that there would be no Democrat primaries in those states.  Maybe the total primary ban is not allowed, but the consequences should have been unequivically laid out on the table.  Fine, vote in the primary, but their votes won’t matter… oh wait, that’s what Clinton said!

You broke the rules (no matter what you think of the rules) and now you should face the econsequences.

Disenfranchisement may seem harsh, but rules are not meant to be broken.

It’s Been 3 Years Already?

This week has seemed to fly by, and even though I do get spoiled with scheduled Friday’s off, I still bitch and complain about having to work a full week.  For those of you that don’t know, my employer has everyone work 8.5 hour days and with those extra 30 minutes everyday, they schedule certain Friday’s off throughout the year.  Every month we get 2 days off.  If there’s a holiday, we get the holiday off and then one scheduled Friday.  If there are no holidays (like this month) then we get two Fridays off… it’s a pretty sweet deal!

Within my first 2 years of working here I rarely got a chance to take these days off.  But since coming back from Europe (beginning of the year) our workload has dramatically dropped… not that I’m complaining, but it has given me time to do other things such as some of my side work with files, fixing certain template files, organizing some files and working on SMPS tasks.

So as of lately, I’ve been able to take all my Fridays off.  It’s nice.  We essentially get 2 3day weekends per month.  We do get spoiled!  And working an extra half hour is no big deal anyway.  Most people probably work those extra 30 minutes anyway!

Things are back to normal and this my wifey and I celebrated our THIRD ANNIVERSARY!!!

Wow, it’s gone by sooo quickly!  I can’t believe it.  Married for 3 years – together for over 6 years. Time really flies by!

I can still remember the day I met my wifey at the bar.  She was…. er, nevermind that.  Anyway, we seemed pretty young and things are so different now.

I can’t believe it’s been 11 years here in Arizona!

A Time to Remember

For the longest time March 5th has always been a depressing day. In 1989 this was the day that my mother passed away. As I grew older, the day stuck out in my mind and annually by mid to late February the impending day was always (if not faintly) in the back of my mind.

This year, my wifey’s Uncle passed away 2 weeks ago, and we spent this past weekend in Sacramento with the rest of her family for his funeral. It was generally a sad weekend but being with most of the family (and all the little kids) made the time more enjoyable.

There were so many aunts, uncles, and cousins (and most with kids of their own). And while most of the kids would be technically 2nd cousins, because of their age differences they called all the older cousins aunt so and so and uncle so and so. So all weekend long, we heard, “Aunty and Uncle” coming from little voices from about knee height. In a sense, we got to play Uncle and Aunt all weekend… ha-ha - get them all riled up and then send them off to their parents! Maybe someday we’ll have our own little ones running around with the little cousins.

I can’t believe that 19 March 5ths have gone by since my mother passed away.

My wifey keeps telling me that it still hurts that her uncle is gone.

All I can tell her is that it just takes time… time to ease the pain while hopefully not forgetting the memory of the person.

I’ve been blogging for about 5 years now, and I’ve been with Blogger all the way.  Blogger was the easiest way to get blogging quickly and with little tech knowledge.

But over the years Blogger has started to piss me off.  When I tried uploading a post it would just hang and never upload.   Piece of crap!

One of the only good things about blogger was the ability to easily edit the layout with html and css.

So after years of enduring the crappy blogger, I’ve finally made the move to WordPress!

We’ll see how this works.

As of right now, I’m still testing this out, but I have a feeling I may be changing my entire blog over to WordPress.

Stay Tuned.
